You can take the girl out of the south... but you can't take the south out of the girl!

2

Before you even think it, I know that it has been WAY too long since I have written.  Plenty of things have been going on in our lives, don't get me wrong, but I have just chosen to use the time in different ways other than blogging. I have sat on the floor and played with Warner when I could have been writing, but those moments are the greatest!  I know that he will not always want me to play with him and one day it will not be "cool" to be seen with his "momeee".  So, for the moment I am treasuring every second that I have of him and seeing the world through his eyes is truly indescribable!   To be honest, I really had bittersweet feelings about writing this post and admitting that my little boy is now 2 years old.  I am not quite sure where the time has gone but now that another is on the way I cannot deny that I have a two year old!  And boy he has been fun lately!  His language skills are exploding and he is learning new things to say each and every day!  But back to the big day when he turned two.  On his actual birthday it was just us 3 (and the baby of course).  We had a low key day full of swimming, laughs and fun!  We ended the day with cupcakes and Warner LOVED his red velvet cupcake.

And then Warner got his present from Uncle Tood, Aunt Molly and Alex early and of course we let him play with it:)  What parent could make this face wait?

Later that month, it was party time!  Time to celebrate with all of our family and friends for Warner's big day!  And of course- there was water!

And of course no party would be complete without Warner's best buddy Lawson.  I must say that Lawson stays still for pictures when my kid- well, that's another story!

Fun Times

Warner has been so fun lately!  From silly new sounds to his all encompassing belly laugh...I just can't get enough!  He is one funny little guy who is changing so much every day.

I have attached some videos below just so you can see what I am talking about.  The first one is Warner discovering his nipples.  And before you say it, I know.  I should not have taught him this, but sometimes all reason escapes you and you just go with what's funny.  Besides, I am going to put this one on him.  He was in a diaper this day, looked down and discovered his nipples.  I simply siad the word and he burst into hysterical laughter.  Now what mom is going to keep her baby form laughing?

And last but not least a little sample of my singing.  Yesterday was interesting in that W had a fever so I tried my best to keep him inside and entertained.  So...we started balancing things on our head and Warer thought this was the best!  We were having a tea party (yes, my little guy likes to have tea parties!) and I balanced the cup on my head and started humming a tune and doing a little dance.  Next thing I know, W is immitating me and having a blast!  So last night we sent this video to daddy!

Multiplying Words

Warner is definitely trying to say new things these days.  I can see that little mind working so hard to verbalize what he is thinking.  Although it does not always speak so that I can understand it, he is getting there.  I dare to say it, but since he is communicating more I think the tantrums might be decreasing- or maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part:)  So the other day I finally gave in and bought W a pair of green crocs.  Well if I would have know how much he would LOVE them, I would have bought them months ago!  Anyway, he tries to say crocs but cannot say the letter "r" so he says a completely different word.  Get it?  The first time that Matt heard him say this I thought he was going to die he was laughing so hard.

I am going to try to document more of the great things that little man is doing, but for now that's it.  Short and sweet.  Oh and we cant forget the pictures since they are the best part, right?  So W found this hat in my closet and just loves it.  Matt said its a good thing that he is secure in his manhood because otherwise he might have a problem with our son wearing a pink hat.  I think he is just as cute as ever!

Big Boy Shoes

Our days lately have been full of everything from smiles and giggles to screams and tantrums.  Yes, it seems to be that time when W is getting old enough to tell us when he is not happy with something!  Enough about the tantrums (because I really don't like to think about them).  I'd much rather think of my sweet little boy and the precious moments that we share.  Lately he has been into trying on mom and dad's shoes and trying to walk in them which is a hoot!  Here are some shots (not the best pictures) that I was able to catch of my boy trying to grow up way too fast!

PS- The way that he is growing , he will fit in those shoes in no time!  My boy has got some BIG feet and is outgrowing his shoes way too fast!

One Boy...Many Loves

On a day dedicated to love, I thought it only appropriate to write  about all of the things that Warner loves...and there are many!  Though a little feminine, I must admit that my boy loves a good tea party!  That's right Santa brought him a tea set for Christmas and he has never looked back.  Tea for breakfast, lunch or dinner- it doesn't matter.  Warner just loves his tea and he is not afraid to share it with his friends!

Warner LOVES to get dirty!  Wherever we go, whatever we do, W finds the dirt and it sticks to him like a magnet!

He also LOVES his truck that Matt and I got him for Christmas!

Lollipop Lover

My guy is in LOVE with anything sweet!  So this past weekend I gave him a lollipop and he loved it!  Warner has been carrying around a paper lollipop that we made for the letter L and so I thought that it was time to give him the real thing!  I love the pictures of him enjoying the treat, but they also made me realize that it is definitely time for a haircut!

A Spirit Like No Other

When I look into the eyes of my little man, a feeling of intense joy fills me and I am so very honored to have been blessed with such a vivacious son.  Now don't get me wrong- there are times when I wish he was a bit more sedate.  When we are in public and he is screaming at the top of his lungs out of pure joy, I might wish that he was a bit quieter or understood the concept of "inside voices".  But when those big blue eyes meet mine and he smiles and laughs, my heart truly melts.  That is my Warner.  He may not be the quietest kid in the crowd, or the one who sits quietly, but he sure is one curious little guy who is always on the move.  I love to see the world through his eyes and share a new experience with him for the first time.  Being Warner's mom has taught me so much that is hard to put into words.  Perhaps the biggest lesson that I have learned is to live in the moment.  I have learned that the laundry and dirty dishes can wait if it means enjoying a new experience with my boy.  Those are the moments that I will forever cherish!

One such experience occurred recently when we took Warner to the beach.  This was only the second time that he had experienced the beauty of the beach and the majestic tranquility of the ocean.  We took him when he was younger and lets just say that wet clothing + #2 diaper + sand= not a good combination!  So off to the beach we go...and....Warner loved the beach-perhaps a little too much!

Things started out nicely- playing in the sand.  And then....W discovered the ocean!

And then it was time to roll in the sand with wet clothes!

This is just one of the many examples of what life is like with our little man. Life is crazy sometimes, but we just have to sit back, laugh and enjoy the ride.   I wouldn't have it any other way!
