You can take the girl out of the south... but you can't take the south out of the girl!

Dirt Anyone?

I must say that I will never look at yard work in the same way since Warner is now helping.  W sees Matt in the yard and wants to be out there too!  So we went out and helped plant some plants.  What an interesting ordeal!  Instead of planting the plants Warner decided to try the delicate taste of dirt on his palate.  You heard right- my kid ate dirt.  I think that every child must try it at least once, but the difference is that I had a camera nearby!  And the other difference is that he did not spit it out.  Gross!  W had a blast eating dirt and genuinely loves to be outside no matter what we are doing:)

And then everyone knows that after hot yard work comes a nice cold, refreshing beer!

Cheese Head!

I found this video and just had to share (due to demand for more videos!)

Couscous

When I have explained in the past that Warner eats anything, I really meant it.  He went through a short phase of not liking my cooking, but these days he will eat pretty much anything!  The other day we had a couscous dish for dinner with veggies and tomato pesto and thought that we would try it out with W the next day.  He LOVED it!  Did I mention that it also contained basalmic vinegar and had a bit of a kick?  He still loved it!  These days he is eating pretty much what we are eating and it makes life so much easier.  He is a growing boy that is getting too big too fast.  I am already planning his first birthday party and it seems like we just had him-tear.  But, that is for another day!  For this Friday its all about the food photos-enjoy!

Playing in the Kitchen Rocks!

Warner seriously LOVES playing in the kitchen!  I am thinking that he likes it so much because it is something new for him to do.  I have given him a cabinet in the kitchen that he can play with and he loves banging his wooden spoon on tupperware, rolling around Matt's small plastic bottles of tonic and scares himself by pulling out the metal muffin pans.  I let him go to town because it keeps him happy and he is learning about different textures, shapes and sounds.  He is such a cutie, how could I say no?  Well, it is very easy to say no as he is getting into EVERYTHING these days, but that subject is for another post:)  Until then, enjoy the photos below!

Geaux Tigers

These pictures are from a few weeks ago, but as cute as ever.  He may live in Florida, but he is an LSU Tiger at heart!

Thanks MiMi for the cool clothes!

Back in the Saddle

I apologize that the blog has been a little neglected lately, but we were on vacation.  Yes vacation without Warner and I am still living to tell about it.  I did not have a heart attack leaving my son and in fact it took an entire four days before I missed him so much that it brought me to tears.  It was not the easiest experience leaving W for the first time, but he was in good hands!  Warner stayed with his Gigi and Pappy and had a GREAT time!  Matt and I had a great time as well in California, but it was so sweet to get back home and hold little man- we missed him so much!  So since we have been home (a little over 24 hours) Warner has started to wave and pull himself up.  I am not sure what his grandparents put in his cereal, but this kid is learning all sorts of new tricks!  The waving began today at Publix when a nice manager began talking to Warner.  I told W to wave goodbye to the nice man and he did it- it was such a sweet moment!  Then he did it again for Matt when he got home.  The pulling up- well that started last night when he stood up in his crib and then multiple times today.  My little boy is growing so fast!  Oh and he turned 10 months yesterday which is still so hard for me to believe.  He is such a blessing and I am so very lucky to be his mother!

The Best Weekend

We had the best weekend!  Matt took off on Friday and Warner got his first haircut (see recent post).  On Saturday, Matt and I decided to do yard work and W wanted to help!  Warner was out there for nearly 2 hours ( yes I said HOURS) and played by himself so well.  We hooked him up with fun toys and stuffed his belly and he was one happy little dude!  I even gave him a plastic container with a little water in it and he was all set.  He poured the water on himself numerous times and was a wet hot mess when he was done.  So we figured that the sprinkler would feel good and it was time for a proper introduction.  Warner was pleased to meet the sprinkler at first, but soon freaked out and the meeting quickly ended.  So I took my sweet little boy inside, took at bath with him and we continued our great day!  On Sunday, we went out for lunch and Warner was very well behaved in the restaurant.  I will say that we gave him numerous lemons and limes throughout lunch, but he was happy:)  Then it was time for the beach!  We walked to the beach and W played in the sand and had a great time.  He loved the water the most and was not afraid to crawl right up to where the waves were coming in and do some exploring.  When we were all done there was sand in every nook and craney of his little body.  He passed out on the way home and we wrapped up the weekend with another bath with mommy and more playtime!  What a great weekend!
