You can take the girl out of the south... but you can't take the south out of the girl!

Model Behavior

I wrote a while back about Warner's first modeling gig.  I did not go into great detail, but is now time to tell the entire story.  When we arrived at the photography studio all was well.  W was well rested and fed which normally equals a pretty happy boy.  Then I saw the clothes that he would be wearing-not the cutest.  (In fact, Matt can't believe that I posted pictures with those "dreadful" clothes on.)  I think that the photographer was able to capture the myriad of moods that Warner displayed that day and the photos are just to funny not to share- even if the clothes are not my favorite to say the least:)  Warner was happy and even agreeable when I changed him out of his truly cute clothes to what he would be modeling.  He was walking around, petting the dog, giggling and genuinely happy kid.  Then I put him on the platform and all hell broke loose.  the tears started flowing freely and my happy child turned into a terrified little boy in the blink of an eye.  He did not want to be on the platform, but in my arms.  I gave him loving for quite a bit and photographer told us to take our time.  So we tried again...

Then I loved on him a bit more.  Third time is a charm-right?  Not so much.  We played peek a boo- anything to keep him happy.  But as you can see that did not work because then he covered his face!
After this, more crying.  So even though his belly was full, we turned to food to help.  "Kid Crack" to be exact.  No I did not give my kid crack, but yogurt bites (I also call kid crack because he LOVES them).  And then we caught him by surprise!
Ok we got the shot-kind of.  There are some better ones of him, but I chose to post the funny ones since they more accurately tell the story!  Then it was time for the next outfit.
"Seriously, what am I wearing?"

"I need more food to stand here!  Come on people!"

"I'm good for now.  Yogurt bites in both hands and one in my mouth-score!"

Time for the Thriller dance!

Yogurt bites make strong boys!
Time for another outfit change.  Warner was getting to be a pro at this now.  Okay, truth time.  We were figuring out what would make him happy and allow the photographer to get the necessary shots.
"I would like to renegotiate my contract please."

Everything considered, we did end up having a good time.  Warner ate lots of yogurt bites and started enjoying himself- despite the "dreadful" clothes.  Now I have a whole new respect for stage moms.  I know that they have a bad reputation and I am by no means condoning their behavior.  But the things that go on behind the scenes are crazy to get "the shot" and I have a whole new respect for that!

No One Like Daddy!

Lately Warner has been in love with Matt and I mean IN LOVE!!!There is no one like Daddy!  It is the word that he says the most and everytime the phone rings its Dada!  Two weekends ago we went swimming and Daddy was the mn!  Now don't get me wrong, Warner loves his mommy but there is something about that male bond.

This past weekend we went to Gigi and Pappy's house and I caught these great shots!  No wonder he likes daddy- mommy doesn't throw as high!

You're Still the One

With Warner's eating patterns all over the place there is one food that has remained steadfast a favorite.  One food that surpasses all others when it comes to what he will eat.  If  Dubya ever spits out this favorite we know that something is wrong!

It's Avacado people- the food of champions!

Fish in the Making

This past week was great!  I feel so very blessed to share so many wonderful moments with my guys.  One of those moments happened Friday morning when I went with Warner to swimming lessons for the first time.  It was so fun!  I put a class together of some friends and their little ones so everyone knows each other.  His teacher (Ms. Maria) is so very nice and has tons of patience with the kids.  The moms accompany the little ones during the class and I was amazed at all of the things that Warner can do in the water.  He LOVES the water!  Ms. Maria was teaching everyone how to blow bubbles in the water and Warner demonstrated to everyone before she was done explaining:)  He can also hold his breath and go underwater. When he comes up he has this smile on his face that is the best!  Matt and I took him swimming Saturday so that he could show daddy what he had learned so far.

"I can do it by myself daddy!"

Being silly

"Um hello people!  I am hungry after all this work"

"Finally some chow!  Now that's what I am talking about!"

Pricelss Moments

The moments that I will always treasure happen so often these days.  Just today I was chasing Warner and hiding behind the furniture while he was laughing hysterically.  These are the moments that I live for!  They happen so often these days as he is such a fun little guy.  It is so amazing to see things through his eyes.  Take a look at the attached video-he thought that I was so funny!  Man, I wish parenting was always this fun:)

Proud Mommy

There are so many things that Warner does on a daily basis that make me proud. He is a sweet boy who never meets a stranger. He shares his smiles and blows kisses to everyone these days and if you happen to be in the same place as W, he often makes his presence known by screaming at the top of his lungs (I do not love that part). I am sure that every parent thinks that there kid is the best, but W has broght more joy to our lives than I thought was even possible. So I decided to make a list of the top 5 reasons that W is so great! (Think of Jay Leno)

#5 - He is a looker! So cute in fact that he had his first paid modeling job on Friday. Please know that I am not a stage mom in any way, shape or form, but someone asked us to do this so we did. Warner did great and I will post pictures in a month or so when we get them.

#4 - He is super smart! When Matt walks into the room W says Dada. Okay, he says dada to everything these days, but anyway.

#3 - He is a loveable child. W frequently blows kisses This is super sweet, especially since he does it backwards. This is his signature style. In addition he is a good snuggler. I had the sweetest moment with him yesterday when he woke up from a nap too early and very unhappy. I picked him up and he fell back asleep on me for 45 minutes. I was in heaven!

#2 - He cleans! Need I say more? The boy loves to clean the floors with my shark. If battery life was long enough, he would probably clean all of the floors.

#1 - He is so curious about the world around him. I love seeing things through his eyes. He always wants to know how things work and flips things over and spins them around to explore.

PS- If you haven't guessed it yet, I love my boy! We finished the weekend with a swim.  What would a good blog post be without pictures?
Matt and W.  Not sure who had more fun!
Just taking in the new surroundings
Exploring!
"Hey mom!  This who sitting still and smiling thing is totally overrated!"
Stealing kisses!  W thought this was hilarious!
Giving love to daddy!
And I'm spent!

My little family!

Back on Track...and WALKING!

Coming back from vacation is a very bittersweet thing.  We had a great vacation, don't get me wrong, but I missed my little man!  Warner stayed and MiMi's house and was treated like a king! Even though he was a bit under the weather for a few days, MiMi said that he never lost his sweet smile and temperment.  Matt and I had a great vacation and when I arrived at my mom's to pick up Warner, I was greeted by a little man who is now walking.  He looks so grown up now walking around.  He has changed too- losing a bit of the baby fat in his belly and his face and looking more like a little boy:(  I love the fact that he is growing into such a neat child, but can't believe how fast it is happening!

The most priceless moment of our return took place on the plane and in the airport.  For me flying alone with him for the first time I was not sure what to expect.  I quickly got into my grove and learned how to make the trip the most enjoyable for everyone involved.  I did not want W to be "one of those kids" on the plane who did not stop crying.  So, I timed his naps appropriately and got him to sleep on me both to and from Louisiana.  It was the sweetest thing- I sang to him soflty and he fell asleep on me.  Snuggling with him on the plane was also a rare treat as he is on the move so much these days.  When we arrived in Tampa and boarded the tram, I took Warner out of the stroller because I wanted him to walk to Matt.  What a moment- W was gleaming from ear to ear and Matt had tears of joy seeing his son after 13 days-priceless!

Looking back on the experience, I realize that it was the kindness of strangers that made the trip so easy.  When I approached the security area with the metal detectors, I remember thinking, "How in the world and I going to load 2 carry ons and a stroller on the belt all while holding my big baluga?"  Strangers along the way helped lift and carry things and made the trip a breeze.  I must say that the greatest surprises were on the way home when a flight attendant sat in the seat nxt to me as the flight boarded so no one would sit on my row.  A woman behind her heard what we were trying to do and offered to sit in the aisle seat and not to let anyone sit next to me.  It turns out that she had an 18 month old son who looked just like Warner.  She (Michelle) was so wonderful!  We sat and talked about motherhood as W was sleeping on me and she did not think twice when I interupted our conversation to sing to W when he startled himself awake.  She even had extra drink coupons and gave them to me so that I would get a beer!  Everyone around me was so great on both trips and I will definitely pass it on in the future and I encourage you to do the same!

And now the bad news- no photos on this post since our camera bit the dust on the trip.  I will have a new camera by the end of the week and will be back to my picturesharing self!  I will try to post a video of W walking soon!
